We are very excited that on the 27th September this year, the Cambridge Healthcare Research team will undertake its 2021 Virtual Half Marathon again. Thirty members of CHR will run a 13.1 mile course virtually to raise money for charities MIND, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Level Water.

Operations Assistant Ashley Sutton, who has organised this event for CHR, has asked everyone to show their support for our big challenge to help some even bigger and very worthy causes.

CHR for Society Committee member Rakshindh Sekhon, who is taking part in the marathon said, ‘The half-marathon is definitely one of the company events I look forward to the most every year, and I’m excited that we are going ahead with a safer, virtual version! As a member of CHR for Society, this even is particularly important not only because of the impact on individual health but also because of the significant donations and support we will be able to provide to our amazing chosen charities!”

Our CEO Chris Stevenson, who is also taking part offered, ‘It’s fantastic that 30 members of the CHR team are running a virtual half-marathon in aid of MIND, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, and Level Water, a charity we support that provides drinking water to parts of the world where it is not readily available. I’ll be running my half-marathon in 2-3 stages though many of my colleagues will be doing it in one session. However we are doing it, this is another good example of the spirit in CHR and our joint commitment to create events and ideas that support people in difficult situations.
