The company has grown significantly in the last several years and now operates with 150 people across two sites [London and Cambridge]. We are now looking for a People Administrator to join our People Team and be part of our ambition to empower our people to reach their potential and deliver the excellence our clients deserve.


The Opportunity

You will be the first point of contact for our people and managers across the company, playing a pivotal role in representing the team and all we do. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, personable and professional generalist HR service to internal and external customers, promoting the People Team as a proactive strategic partner to the business focused on delivering a human centred people experience that maximises the capability and achievements of our people.


You will have exposure to a wide variety of people activities within a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will make a difference by not just following existing systems and processes but also creating and improving ways of working that enable sustainable growth, thus developing and growing yourself as a people professional and advisor.


The opportunity is available on a permanent basis and we will consider applicants on both a full and part-time basis, subject to a minimum of 25 hours per week over 5 days.



What You Will Bring To CHR

  • A strong administrative background and excellent organisational skills, with a passion for starting or furthering a career in people and culture.
  • An understanding or appreciation of people-related processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively within a small team and develop relationships with staff and managers at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Tact and discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Commercial astuteness to ensure the People Team’s contribution is an enabler of business performance.
  • A keen interest in building analytical and reporting skills that enable data-led insights to inform decision-making.
  • Previous experience within an HR/recruitment environment is desirable.


What You Will be Doing

Recruitment and onboarding

You will be the main point of contact for appointed candidates, drafting offers and contracts of employment, conducting pre-employment checks and organising and conducting inductions. You will also support with recruitment administration as required, communicating with candidates, organising and hosting assessment centres, and organising external events to promote CHR’s employer brand.


HR information and records management

You will maintain all systems containing employee information, including external portals for payroll and benefits, as well as manage the team mailbox, acting as the first point of contact for answering queries.


Performance management

You will manage the probation review process, liaising with line managers and advising as appropriate to ensure new starters’ probationary periods are effectively managed. You will also support the team with coordinating CHR’s performance and development review and resulting promotion and pay award processes.


Learning and development

You will support the team and relevant managers across the company, as required, with organising training activities.



You will conduct the offboarding processes for leavers, including conducting exit interviews to ensure CHR identifies and implements changes to improve retention.


Other duties

You will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the company on corporate initiatives, events, ad-hoc projects and developing and implementing new people practices.

Compensation & Benefits

CHR has offices in Shoreditch, London and the Cambridge Science Park and provides the opportunity to work within our hybrid working model. Due to the customer-facing nature of this role, we anticipate 2-3 days per week on-site in our London office. We offer a flexible and supportive atmosphere as well as a competitive salary and benefits package that includes:
