CHR For Society – support ‘The Switch’ charity in delivering a career workshop
26 April 2023
On Monday 24th Aril, a group of over 30 volunteers came together to support “The Switch” charity in delivering a career workshop for year 8 students at a local school in Whitechapel. For more than 30 years, The Switch has been providing educational experiences to raise the aspirations and boost the career chances of young people.
Some of the team from Vox.Bio, and Solici attended the workshop to share their own career experiences, and also shine a light on what it’s like to work in healthcare consultancy.
Jordan Lee, Senior Associate Consultant from Solici, who attended and helped organise the session said:
“It was fantastic to share our experience with the students. For some of us, its a [very!] long time since we had to make decisions about our educational choices, but we can all remember the enormity of the feeling, and we hope that by sharing our journeys, and insights into our world of work, we were able to inspire the students in their next steps.”
The team from The Switch said:
“The volunteers brought a wealth of knowledge and diverse perspectives from their respective careers, which they utilized to facilitate engaging discussions and activities aimed at fostering critical thinking and informed decision-making about the forthcoming GCSE choices.
A massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped empower the students by providing them with information on their options for higher education and motivating them to strive for success. The charity was immensely appreciative of your exceptional insights and advice, and the students were thoroughly engaged and delighted to meet you.”
